Vegan Food in Rio

Image
Rio de Janeiro is a city with many options when it comes to gastronomy, and here I always try to bring places that I frequent and are of good quality. Today I present Pura Rio, a vegan restaurant that works with organic ingredients. It is located in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone of the city, and has a beautiful view of Lagoa da Tijuca. It has a seasonal menu and prices are fair to what is offered. In addition, the space offers activities such as yoga and stand up paddle. I got to know the space years ago, I always followed it on facebook and it was amazing when I had the opportunity to pay a visit. The space is small but the service is excellent and the food so... even better. For those who want to know, follow their instagram: @pura.rio

Rio Historic Center: Federal Justice Cultural Center

Image
The Federal Justice Cultural Center is a cultural space dedicated to the history of justice in Brazil. It is located on Avenida Rio Branco opposite the famous Cinelândia square, the historic center of Rio de Janeiro. The construction dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. The Federal Supreme Court operated there until 1960, when the capital was transferred to the city of Brasília. The space has free entry and fixed and traveling exhibitions.

Quebra Mar, the Barra da Tijuca Pier

Image
Quebra Mar is a breakwater that divides Barra da Tijuca Beach and the Joatinga Channel that connects the sea to Lagoa da Tijuca. It is located in the Barra da Tijuca district, West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The Pier of Barra is a famous sunset observation point. But be careful on rough sea days, as the waves hit the pier with force.

A Refreshing Bath

Image
Summer has arrived, the hottest time of the year, and in Rio de Janeiro the heat is great. For these days, the tip is a refreshing waterfall bath. Today we present the Cachoeira do Chuveiro, a small waterfall located in the upper part of the Jardim Botânico neighborhood, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The area is part of the Tijuca National Park, and has a light level trail. The waterfall falls in the middle of a rock formation that looks like a shower stall. Remember that it is important to get informed before going on any trail. If necessary, hire a qualified professional. And always bring back all the garbage produced, nature appreciates your cooperation.

The First Public Square in Brazil

Image
Passeio Público is a park located near Lapa, a famous bohemian region in the downtown Rio de Janeiro. It was built in the 18th century in the same place where there was a lagoon. Initially, the park was intended for high society and access was restricted. The Passeio Público has beautiful tree-lined paths, gardens, a lake and a fountain from the time of its opening. Access is free.
