Pedra da Gávea - The great stone

 Pedra da Gávea is the largest stone wall by the sea in the world. It is located between the neighborhoods of São Conrado and Barra da Tijuca. With 840 meters of altitude it has a heavy level trail that goes to the top of the mountain. From various points in Rio de Janeiro it is possible to see Pedra da Gávea. There are legends that say the stone is actually a Phoenician sphinx. Others say the site is a flying saucer landing site. The truth is that Pedra da Gávea impresses for its robust formation, contrasting with the beach and the forest that surrounds it.

Santa Teresa - A picturesque neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro

 Santa Teresa is a famous neighborhood located on top of a hill in the central region of Rio de Janeiro. Historic buildings house art galleries and restaurants along its streets. One of the most famous spots in the neighborhood is the tram that connects Santa Teresa to downtown Rio. In the neighborhood is also the Parque das Ruínas, a cultural center that also offers a viewpoint with spectacular views.

Copacabana Beach

 Copacabana Beach is in the South Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is approximately four kilometers long and has a very urban landscape. A large number of hotels are concentrated on its waterfront. Its boardwalk with mosaic made of Portuguese stones is also famous. The beach hosts several events throughout the year. The biggest one is the New Year's Eve party that gathers more than two million people. When taking a walk on the beach or on the boardwalk, be aware that theft is frequent in the region.  

Cinelândia - Rio Old Town

 Cinelândia is one of the main squares in the Historic Center of Rio de Janeiro. It is at the end of Avenida Rio Branco. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century and was part of the various interventions that elitized the city center. His project was inspired by the large European squares with imposing constructions around them. In the 1920s the opening of several cinemas in the region began, which ended up popularizing the famous nickname Cinelândia, as its official name is Marechal Floriano. Today the square still maintains its old buildings that contrast with the abandonment of the city. Several people live in the square because of the lack of public policies aimed at housing. Another point that remains is the square as a stage for political demonstrations, even today it is the area where demonstrations frequently take place.

Tijuca National Park

 Tijuca National Park is in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Its area covers three of the four main regions of the city. The park is considered one of the largest urban forests in the world. Its area is divided into four sectors: Pretos Forros, Pedra da Gávea / Pedra Bonita, Serra da Carioca and Floresta da Tijuca. Pretos Forros is an area that is not open to visitors and has serious problems related to security. Pedra da Gávea / Pedra Bonita is located between the neighborhoods of Barra da Tijuca and São Conrado. There are two trails there. Pedra Bonita has a ramp with hang gliding and paragliding. It also has a light level trail that goes to the top of the rock. Pedra da Gávea has a heavy level trail not suitable for beginners. It is considered the highest stone wall by the sea in the world with its 840 meters of altitude. Serra da Carioca is the sector where the Botanical Gardens, Cristo Redentor and Mirante Dona Marta are located. Next to Cristo Redentor there is a visitor center. Flore
