This old fountain is known as the Mestre Valentim Fountain, in homage to the artist who built it in the 18th century.
The monument is located in Praça XV, one of the main squares in the historic center of Rio de Janeiro.
At the time of its construction, it had the function of supplying the vessels that docked at the pier that was next to the construction.
With the landfills carried out in the region, the sea was further away from the fountain, which today is almost in the center of the square.
Unfortunately it is empty and without the lighting that was part of the construction.
