I ARRIVED IN RIO DE JANEIRO AND NOW?

 If you ever thought about visiting Rio de Janeiro, you must have imagined this situation, you arrived in the city and now, what to do? Where to go?

Below are economical ways to get out of the city's airports and bus station.
Arriving at Rio Bus Station
The bus station is in the center of the city next to several expressways and because of that the region has heavy traffic.
In front of one of the exits there is a tram station. This transport passes through subway stations such as Carioca and Cinelândia from where it is possible to board either towards the South Zone or towards the North Zone. Another way is by bus, but as I said before, the traffic is heavy and it can take more than an hour between the bus station and the Copacabana neighborhood, for example.
Arriving at Santos Dumont Airport
Santos Dumont Airport is a domestic airport located in downtown Rio de Janeiro.
In front of the airport there is a tram station that passes through two subway stations: Cinelândia and Carioca. From these stations, departures can be made to the South Zone or the North Zone.
Another possibility is bus lines known as "frescão". They connect the airport to the neighborhoods of Zona Sul and Barra da Tijuca. The ticket price is higher than the convenient lines, but they don't usually stop along the way, they are faster.
Arriving at Galeao Airport
Galeão Airport is the international airport of Rio de Janeiro. It is located in the North Zone of the city within walking distance of the city center.
The airport has a BRT station, an express bus line that connects neighborhoods in the North and West Zones. This line that leaves the airport passes through Vicente de Carvalho station where it is possible to board the subway.
Another possibility is bus lines known as "frescão". These lines connect the airport to the city centre, Zona Sul and the Barra da Tijuca district.

 Cristo Redentor is the most famous tourist spot in Brazil. It is located at the top of Corcovado Montain in Tijuca National Park. There are two ways to visit it: by van and by train.
