SOMETIMES ISLAND, SOMETIMES CONTINENT

 Pedra do Pontal is a hill located in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, a neighborhood in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the movement of the tides, the hill connects to the mainland through a strip of sand that disappears at other times.
On one side, Praia do Recreio and on the other, Praia da Macumba, the scenery is beautiful with the hill in the background.
Pedra do Pontal has a trail that goes to the top of the hill from where you have a view of the entire region. But be aware of the tide, if you go up on a high tide day you will not be able to reach the beach.

 Cristo Redentor is the most famous tourist spot in Brazil. It is located at the top of Corcovado Montain in Tijuca National Park. There are two ways to visit it: by van and by train.
