Image
The Passarela da Rocinha passes over a busy expressway and helps the residents of Favela da Rocinha to get to the other side of the road where there is a bus stop. The project is by the famous architect Oscar Niemeyer and cost millions to the public coffers. The issue is that there was a footbridge that needed a ramp to be installed. But the state government demolished the old one and built a new one, unnecessarily. The work has a monument similar to the one in the Sambadrome, which resembles the letter m.

The region has several waterfalls and natural pools of various sizes. The access trail is light level, however, with little signage. It is always good to point out that it is necessary to inform yourself before carrying out such activity and, if necessary, hire a qualified professional to conduct the tour.
