3. Paço Imperial
Paço Imperial is a cultural center located in Praça XV, one of the main squares in the historic center of Rio de Janeiro. It has free admission and fixed and traveling exhibitions.
The building built in the 18th century was the first residence of the Portuguese royal family when they fled to Brazil. The place was the scene of historical moments such as the signing of the Lei Áurea that ended slavery in Brazil.
4. Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon
Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon is in the heart of the South Zone, close to neighborhoods such as Leblon, Ipanema and Copacabana.
With 7 kilometers of waterfront, it has leisure spaces, restaurants, picnic areas, decks overlooking the landscape and sports spaces.
This is a good option for a walk after lunch and enjoy a mild climate walking through one of the most beautiful places in the city.
5. Parque Lage
Parque Lage is a public park located in the Jardim Botânico neighborhood, in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro.
The park has an old building that houses an arts school. It draws attention for having a swimming pool overlooking the statue of Christ the Redeemer. Even the location was the scene of the video by Snoop Dogg and Pharrell Williams.
Parque Lage also has beautiful gardens, lakes, artificial caves and a picnic area.
