Sepetiba Bay

Most tourists are unaware of it, but Rio de Janeiro has two bays. The famous Guanabara Bay and the unknown Sepetiba Bay.

Located in the West Zone of the city, it also bathes two other cities in the metropolitan region. Being in a region on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro suffers from neglect. The lack of basic sanitation in the region's neighborhoods and the intense pollution of industries located on the banks of Sepetiba Bay make it a true ecological disaster.

Despite the pollution and abandonment of the place, it has a beautiful landscape with beaches, mangroves and islands. Nature continues to resist all aggressions.
