Neighborhood of Rio: Barra de Guaratiba

 Barra de Guaratiba is a neighborhood in the West Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is located between the mountains of the Pedra Branca State Park and the sea.

In the region is the last preserved mangrove area in Rio de Janeiro and also the last wild beaches in the city.

Its population is around five thousand inhabitants, giving the neighborhood a characteristic of a small town in the interior. Barra de Guaratiba is famous because of its gastronomic center focused on seafood.
