Praia da Urca is located in the Urca neighborhood in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. It is bathed by Guanabara Bay and for this reason it is not suitable for bathing. It has a spectacular landscape overlooking the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer. In it is the old Cassino da Urca, a historic building from the beginning of the 20th century.

AVENIDA RIO BRANCO, A HISTORIC AVENUE

Image
Avenida Rio Branco is one of the main thoroughfares in downtown Rio de Janeiro. Over a hundred years old, the avenue had its final stretch transformed into a public walkway. It was opened at the beginning of the 20th century representing the biggest project of the time. The works were intended to make the city center elitist, removing the poor population and building refined buildings in place of the old residences. Some estimates say that around 20,000 people were evicted for the opening of the road. Families even lived on the street for a while until the government directed them to a new home. The project was inspired by the architecture of Paris, with a large avenue bordered by imposing buildings. Some of them remain standing today, such as the Municipal Theater and the National Museum of Fine Arts.

Image
Rio de Janeiro is a city world famous for its tropical climate and paradisiacal beaches. But what few know is that even outside the summer it is possible to enjoy the city's climate. The summer in Rio is between the months of December and March. Therefore, any season outside this period is suitable for visiting the city. Even in winter the temperatures are mild with even sunny days perfect for enjoying a beach. Another important point of the times outside the summer are the values that appear to be lower, making the experience more profitable.
