Image
Feira Nordestina is a center of northeastern traditions. It is located in São Cristóvão, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The place offers restaurants and shops where it is possible to buy products from the Northeast of Brazil. Rio de Janeiro was the country's capital for a long time and due to internal migration many people left the Northeast and came to seek a better life in the big city. These people brought customs from their regions and incorporated them into the daily life of the city. The center of traditions was created through a popular movement where people from the Northeast gathered to kill the homesickness of their homeland. In addition to gastronomy, the center also has musical events throughout the year.
